About Phleum pratense
Timothy is a perennial (annual) grass which is primarily grown as animal feed. Timothy contains a good combination of protein and roughage, and therefore, is an excellent forage product. The primary growing area for Timothy on the west coast of the United States in Central Washington (Ellensburg). Timothy Hay is used in the racehorse industry as well as the dairy industry and is considered to be a premium product.
